BuildVision Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how BuildVision ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the BuildVision mobile application (the "App"). By using BuildVision, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what's needed to operate BuildVision and improve your experience.

1.1 Information You Provide

• Account information: email address and password when you sign up.
• Business profile: business name and phone number you enter in Settings, used solely to brand images you generate and share.
• Photos: photos you upload from your device to generate ADU previews.
• Property addresses (manual): if you ever type a property address into the app, that address is associated with the corresponding generation in your History.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Location (at generation time only): when you tap Generate, the App captures your device's current GPS location once and reverse-geocodes it to a human-readable address (e.g. "123 Main St, City, State"). This address is attached to that generation in your History so you can find it again. We do NOT track your location in the background, and we do NOT store raw GPS coordinates. If you decline location permission, the app continues to work — generations simply won't carry an address.
• Generation metadata: timestamps, ADU size selection, selected brochure style, generation status, and your optional star ratings of generated images.
• Device information: iOS version, device model, and app version, used for support and debugging.
• Authentication tokens: issued after sign-in, stored securely in the iOS Keychain on your device.

1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect: continuous location, your contacts, calendar, microphone audio, advertising identifiers, browsing history outside the App, social-network connections, financial information, biometric data, or analytics about how you use other apps.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Generate ADU previews: photos and brochure selections are sent to AI providers (see Section 4) to produce your renders.
• Save your work: generated images and metadata are stored so you can revisit them in your History.
• Brand shared images: your business name, phone, and logo are composited onto generated images when you share or save them.
• Authenticate you: email/password is used to sign you in and link generations to your account.
• Operational support: device info helps us diagnose crashes and improve the app.

We do not use your data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or use it to train AI models beyond the single generation request you initiated.

3. Where Your Data Lives

• Your photos and generated images are stored on our infrastructure (currently hosted on Railway, with PostgreSQL for metadata) for as long as you keep them in your History. Deleting an image from History permanently removes the underlying files.
• Your logo is stored locally on your device only (iOS UserDefaults). It is composited onto shared/saved images on-device and is never uploaded to our servers.
• Backups & retention: automatic database backups are kept for up to 30 days for disaster recovery, then permanently deleted.

4. Third-Party Services

Generating an ADU preview involves sending your input photo and selected brochure to one or more AI providers. We chose providers that operate at enterprise privacy standards and do not retain content beyond what's needed to fulfill the request.

Each of these providers has their own privacy policy. We send the minimum data required to fulfill each request and never share your account credentials, business profile, or location data with these providers beyond what's noted above.

5. Your Rights and Choices

You can:

• Edit your account info at any time in Settings.
• Delete individual generations from your History, which permanently removes the image and its metadata from our servers.
• Revoke location permission at any time in iOS Settings → BuildVision → Location. The App continues to work without it.
• Sign out from Settings. Signing out doesn't delete your data — sign back in to restore access.
• Delete your account in two ways: tap Delete Account in Settings, or email 4kylelee@gmail.com with the subject line "Delete my account." Either path permanently removes your account, all generations, and associated metadata immediately. We may retain anonymized records as required by law.
• Request a data export of all data we hold about you by emailing the same address. We'll respond within 30 days.

If you live in the EU/UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA/CPRA), you have additional rights including the right to access, correct, restrict, or object to certain processing. Email us to exercise any of these rights.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security practices: HTTPS for all network traffic, password hashing (bcrypt), JWT-based authentication, and least-privilege access controls. No system is perfectly secure — if you suspect your account has been compromised, contact 4kylelee@gmail.com immediately.

7. Children

BuildVision is intended for professional contractors and adult users. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). If you believe a child has used the App, contact us and we'll delete their data.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced in the App or by email at least 30 days before they take effect.

BuildVision is operated by Kyle G as a sole-proprietor product. This policy is provided in good faith and reflects our actual data practices. If a court of competent jurisdiction finds any provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
